What's new

Nutritional Cooking lately...

Hi!

My weekly roundup is a little later than usual, that's because it's been an amazing and busy week in terms of content creation.

Did you cook with healing foods this past week? Or have you found new foods with undiscovered healing benefits?

Speaking of which, I posted a video link about this unusual herb called Horsetail. You may know of it or perhaps not. I first encountered it during my culinary nutrition studies in a recipe for a tea.

It's has many health benefits, including antioxidants and Silica, a mineral beneficial for skin, nails, hair and bone. It can also be used as a natural diuretic, which is good to know when you need gut support.

And on a gut health note, here's my step formula for the perfect Overnight Oats. It's very gut friendly and heart healthy too.

I'm pushing this step formula because I believe it's the quickest and best way to inject all the right nutrients you need to fuel the day.

It's not only blood sugar regulation and the energy boost you're looking for. It's got that. But, it also targets the supportive qualities that we sometimes overlook. For example, nutrients that build gut microbiome, the real superfoods and adaptogens for stress and fatigue.

I bet you never thought of adding kimchi or sauerkraut to your breakfast right? Well, I admit, I didn't at first, but now I do :)

This recipe has got all of that covered plus more.

As mentioned Oats are good for heart health, but so are these foods.

Here's a blog post all about heart-healthy Foods. If you're concerned about blood pressure or general cardiovascular health, I've got all the info you need in terms of which foods to eat. Take a look.

So, get meal prepping now and let me know if you found this video helpful.

As always, I value everyone's feedback. Feel free to leave a comment. And if there's something you want to read about or need more nutritional cooking info, let me know.

I may earn money or products from the companies mentioned on this newsletter. Thank you for supporting this healthy food blog.

Issue #1 Calming the skin with healing foods The internet is flooded with recipes and nutritional advice on 'inflammation' these days. But, not all inflammation is bad, and it's important to point that out. Swelling resulting from injury or surgery is the body's natural response to trauma and also signals the healing process. Chronic inflammation is the swelling of areas inside the body (including skin) that is induced by an internal factor not related to that injury. All my recipes on the...

The Weekly Dispatch Top posts from this week Integrating your meal prep with a zero food waste strategy I think cooking from scratch is the answer to reducing so many excessive, expensive, and disease-inducing factors in our lives. I know that living a zero-waste lifestyle can be challenging in terms of making the living adjustment. Sometimes it requires a once-off financial adjustment too, such as investing in eco-friendly, energy-saving tools and equipment, and storage goods. But it is an...
